Quads Training.

The quads are made up of four muscles on the front of the leg. These are the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius and the vastus medialis.

Quad training has become one of my favourite parts to train, not only because its challenging but because I love the feeling I get the days that follow, no other body part makes me feel like this.

It appears people think the only way to grow their quads is by adding more and more weight every time, whilst this is a key component to muscle development, it really is just part of the equation. I also notice people training their quads along side their hamstrings. Where this falls down is often one muscle groups gets more attention that the other. You must see your quads a set of muscles on their own, just like you do with your chest and back.

When training quads we must look at a variety of exercises, each and every exercise has its benefits when it comes to building big quads. Unfortunately most people do not know how to train quads correctly hence why you don’t see many people with big quads. Let’s take the leg extension for example. A fantastic exercise for developing the rectus femoris, but hardly anyone focuses on maximally contracting it. Most people use the leg extension as an ego machine and try to lift as much weight as possible.

The other thing I see is that most people only train quads once every 7 days but I believe If you really want to see growth in your quads, you need to start training them more than once a week.

The last thing about quad training is that you really need to be mentally ready and grow some serious minerals, f you want big quads you have to train like your life depends on it. They’re big muscle groups and can handle a lot of damage. You have to be prepared to give it to them, and endure a level of pain in the process.

You have to be able to place you mind deep within your muscles to really facilitate their development. You can tell the people who are training superficially, and those who are deeply intent of growing.
